At Central Surgery, we are committed to providing the best care for all our patients. We understand that some individuals may require extra support when accessing our services. That’s why we offer a Special Assistance Scheme to help those who need it most.
What is the Special Assistance Scheme?
The Special Assistance Scheme is designed to provide additional support to patients who may face difficulties visiting or communicating with our surgery. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Patients with mobility issues or disabilities
- Those with hearing or visual impairments
- Patients with learning difficulties or cognitive challenges or are going through a particular time of crisis such as bereavement or Mental Health
- Individuals who may need extra time or help during consultations
- Patients who require extra support navigating day to day difficulties and lean on the GP Surgery for support and are frequent callers and service users
How We Can Help
If you are registered with our practice and think you might benefit from the scheme, we can offer:
- A buddy scheme where you are matched with a designated patient advisor who will give you a call weekly to check in. This will be tailored to your needs
- A designated GP
- Priority appointments or longer consultation times
- Assistance with completing forms or understanding medical information
